We know that fashion trends tend to be cyclical. We often see out-of-style apparel and accessories make a trendy reappearance several decades later. The last few years we’ve seen a resurgence of 80’s and 90’s inspired fashion – bigger shoulders, plaid prints, flatform shoes, overalls, slip dresses, bomber jackets and more have all been seen in stores and runways alike in seasons’ past.
This Spring, however, we are taking you back a little further in history to the 60’s and 70’s to bring you one of this season’s hottest trends: bohemian hippie chic! For all of our free-spirited fashionistas – this is your season to shine!
We have been seeing a LOT of this fiber trend. Whether you are looking for a full outfit, shoe or bag – there are plenty of options out there this season. Check out the pieces below for some inspiration on items to introduce to your closet for Spring. Crochet and Macrame can definitely be done in a high-class, chic way. For example, we are absolutely loving this all-white crochet stunner by Carolina Herrera. This dress is gorgeous, tailored and perfect for Spring.
If you feel a little too ‘exposed’ by the thought of wearing crochet or macrame clothing, go for a shoe or bag! Obsessed is an understatement with these black and white Bernardo mules – who wouldn’t want these in their wardrobe? Our stylists are also really loving these macrame espadrilles by Schutz and this leather embellished bag by Isabella Marant for a more casual, daytime look.
Color lovers rejoice – tie-dye is back! We are pleased that tie-dye is finally getting the high-end appreciation it deserves. Sure you can keep it traditional with a rainbow tee like this one by Alice + Oliva or either of these 360 Cashmere sweaters in pink or purple for a chilly Spring day, but we are seeing tie-dye being done in new, fabulous and fashionable ways.
This green and blue kimono by NFC can be worn as a Spring/Summer dress or worn open over white jeans and a cami – you know we love a piece that creates multiple outfit options. This tie-dye skirt from Topshop is another really chic option for a dressy casual look. But for something more casual, yet high-end, go with these dreamy cotton candy colored jeans by Stella McCartney. If you feel like this is a little too much color for you, go with this muted pastel tie-dye Spring scarf, also by Stella McCartney.
