What to Wear: Easter Sunday

Posted on March 21, 2019

No matter what your plans are for Easter, this holiday is the perfect time to bring out Spring (and Sunday’s) very best. With all the beautiful florals, lace, pastel colors and white out in stores for the new season, it’s almost more difficult to narrow down your choices for an Easter outfit than to find one in the first place.

If you ARE finding it a challenge to find the perfect Easter outfit, we’ve pulled together some of our favorites. With shoes and bags, of course. We love options. Our team of personal stylists has put together a style guide for Easter dressing featuring some of our favorite trends and colors for the season. There’s never been a better time to retire that same ‘ole Easter outfit you’ve worn the last 4 years and treat yourself to something fresh, fun and fashionable!

Easter Style Board #1: Chic, Classic Spring Colors

Easter Outfit

We love a simple, stunning dress. Make an impression with a flattering feminine silhouette like either of these choices above. The bold and bright yellow Alice + Olivia dress is gorgeous and screams ‘Spring!’ You can pair it with a basic nude heel sandal like shown in the photograph or pair it with a white sandal to make it even more Springy. Throw it all together with a fun floral embroidered handbag in a complementary color like this Tory Burch one and you’re set (you could also keep it simple with a classic white bag).

How gorgeous is this lavender dress by Badgley Mischka for an Easter outfit? The tie at the neck helps draw the eye up. Out stylists love soft feminine features like this for Spring. For your shoes – you could go nude, you could go white, or you could go bold like this sleek pair of snakeskin heel sandals. Throw in a silver or grey toned bag to accentuate the snake and voila! you have the perfect Easter outfit.

Easter Style Board #2: See ya Boring ‘Easter Dress’, FUN Midi Skirts are the New Move

Easter Outfit

Dresses are great, but nothing is better (and more on-trend) than a soft, comfortable and breathable midi-skirt. Not only are these skirts flattering for nearly all body types but they are so easy to coordinate! Dress them up, dress them down – but forget ‘a dress’ this year and try these new skirt silhouettes for Easter! Plus, we predict this midi-skirt trend will be carried forward into future seasons – so you’ll get some longevity with this wardrobe investment.

Why not go with an Easter-colored A.L.C. co-ord skirt set for this special Sunday? This look is definitely for a bolder fashionista, but really anyone can this pull this colorful look off! We love the soft colored print and think it would be gorgeous (and fashion-forward) with a white strappy heel or interesting white flat like this one by Cult Gaia. But if Spring has made you ready for some color, we love this outfit paired with this deep golden yellow sandal by Zimmerman or this pastel pink leather fringe heel by Alexander McQueen. If you want to add a little extra glam, try some silver accessories.

We are obsessed with this black, white, and yellow print DVF skirt. There are so many options for shoes with this one. You could pair this skirt with either of the white sandals mentioned above, the Alexander McQueen pink fringe heels, OR these beautiful soft yellow heels by Louise et Cie Kota. For coordinating the DVF skirt, you could go with white, black, yellow (like the this one) or the right shade of pink top to create a beautiful pulled-together outfit. We love this skirt because it could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion! Definitely a good investment piece for Spring/Summer.

Looking for the perfect bag for either of these outfits? Look for a white, yellow, orange, pink or lavender to tie it all together!

Easter Style Board #3: A New Take on Florals

Easter Outfit

“Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Although this famous quote from The Devil Wears Prada was said sarcastically, we don’t think Spring florals have to be boring. We know for many, that florals really are the go-to print as soon as Spring arrives. Now, we love a good floral print, but what we love even more is coordinating these classic prints in new and interesting ways that aren’t so basic.

A lot of people get confused about coordinating outfits with colors that don’t typically ‘go’ together. However, as long as the tone of the colors is complimentary, it can work! For example, with the green print mini dress by Veronica Beard you could wear a classic metallic sandal like this gold Sam Edelman block heel sandal or this Christian Louboutin flat-form, but if you wanted to go for a fun complementary color – you could go bold with this strappy orange sandal or this baby pink leather sandal. Pull it all together with a gorgeous neutral bag like this lambskin one by Mansur Gavriel.

For the Rachel Pally multi-colored floral dress, you could wear any of the shoes mentioned above, or bring in another complementary color like this magenta ankle-strap sandal. We also love the thought of wearing this light blue Valentino bag with this colorful dress to help accentuate and bring out the small touches of blue.
