Yee-haw! The legendary Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo begins a week from tomorrow. This is one of our most anticipated local events that draws audience members and contestants from all over the country. For the more fashion-minded local attendees, this is the best opportunity to bring out your nicest boots, dress in your finest western-wear and unleash your inner cowgirl (or boy)! This is the year to confidently flaunt your best Rodeo Style.
Thankfully, one of the biggest trends of fall 2018, western wear, is going forward into Spring. With the western trend going mainstream and showing up in stores, online and in magazines, there have been a huge amount of options this year. Anything from fringe, western-style embroidery, suede and tailored denim are all perfect for the FWSSR. This year, thankfully, the fashion industry has provided us with so many options for outfits.
There is still plenty of time to find the perfect outfit (or outfits) for the night(s) you attend. We have pulled together some of our favorite looks for this year’s event. These looks are perfect for the occasion and on-trend! Best of all? You can shop any of these styles directly through the links below. So grab your turquoise squash blossom and your favorite western boots because it’s officially Rodeo Season.
Make a statement this rodeo season with a classic look featuring some of the hottest trends for 2019. Animal inspired prints have been in-style for a few seasons, but the new ‘it’ animal print for Spring is snake skin. This is a trend we are really excited about (all of our stylists bought a pair of snake booties for the upcoming season)! We love the thought of pairing this outfit with a neutral-toned snake skin bootie, like these by Isabel Marant. Metallics are also a huge trend for Spring. If animal print isn’t your thing, try throwing on a metallic pair of booties like these by Prada instead. Adding a fringe jacket, like this one, is an on-trend way to add a little excitement to your Rodeo outfit. Throw it all together with some black skinny jeans, a classic pearl snap shirt and gold accessories and you are set!
Looking for a different price point? We are obsessed with these colorful snake skin booties by Jeffrey Campbell and these metallic ones too. There is even more clothing, shoes and accessories style inspiration on our Rodeo Style Board. We have curated items for every budget, shape and size – check it out!
This Spring, boho style is making a comeback. While out scouting the newest trends, we have been seeing busy and colorful prints, intricate embroidered details, patchwork, crochet, tie-dye and more! Why not be ahead of the trend and debut a boho-inspired look at this years’ Rodeo (of course – still with some Western flair)! We love this Lafayette 148 print blouse we found at Nordstrom. It’s the perfect mix between free-spirited and cowgirl chic. Pair it with some trendy tobacco colored cords and a white embroidered bootie (or a gold one). How perfect is the western detailing on these booties? We’ll take a pair of each!
Mix it up with the accessories! Layered necklaces add a special point of interest to any look. Adding an eye-catching bag with interesting details also adds a special touch to the outfit. We love this fringed bag by Trademark and this leather bucket bag too!
We weren’t joking when we said Western Wear was a huge trend. High-end designers like Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Saint Laurent and more all had some western flair in their fall/winter collections. For those with a higher budget, we found some designer items guaranteed to look fabulous at this year’s show. This beautiful Brunello Cucinelli blouse in gorgeous emerald green pairs beautifully with this full, structured indigo denim skirt by Ralph Lauren. The lush emerald green color is the perfect compliment to a gorgeous turquoise necklace like this one or these floral Valentino booties with a splash of green! Do you know what else pairs beautifully with emerald green? Gold! Throw it all together with this gold accented Gucci bag or gold embellished tall boots. If the forecast is looking chilly, wrap yourself in a beautiful solid colored shawl like this one from Free People – keeping it budget friendly :)!
